Bandits attacked Kasuwan Daji because it’s market of thieves – Niger gov, Bago

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has explained the reason behind the deadly attack on Kasuwan Daji Market in Borgu Local Government Area, where several people were killed, and others abducted last week. The governor spoke after a courtesy visit to the Emir of Borgu, Alhaji Mohammed Dantoro. He said the market was widely known for the sale of stolen cattle, which made it a target for rival bandit groups. Bago described the incident as tragic, saying, “It is unfortunate this is happening again in less than two months, now that people were murdered and slaughtered in market square.” (…)
