Tinubu appoints Opeyemi Agbaje as PenCom chairman

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Opeyemi Agbaje, a former assistant general manager (AGM) at Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), as the new chairman of the National Pension Commission (PenCom). Opeyemi was also executive director at the Metropolitan Bank before exiting the banking industry. His appointment follows a seven-day ultimatum issued by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). The NLC had demanded the immediate reconstitution of PenCom’s governing board, warning of an industrial action should the government fail to comply.
