Ondo polytechnic sacks ASUP chairman over ‘gross misconduct’

The management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, on Tuesday, sacked Oluwadare Ijawoye, chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) in the institution, and Ade Arikawe, his secretary, over alleged gross misconduct.ASUP had accused Banji Alabi, principal officers of the school and the chairman of the institution’s governing council, of misappropriation of funds in the purchase of vehicles.Their sack was contained in a circular issued by Samuel Ojo, the school’s director of public relations and protocol.The circular warned that the sacked staff should not be seen in the (...)
