Federal High Court Names Yahaya Yakubu Shafa Acting Chief Registrar

The Federal Judicial Service Commission has approved the appointment of Yahaya Yakubu Shafa, FCArb, as Acting Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court.The decision was taken at the Commission’s 98th meeting on January 22, 2026. According to a statement released Tuesday by Catherine Oby Christopher, PhD, Director of Information for the Federal High Court, the appointment takes effect immediately from February 17, 2026.Shafa succeeds Sulaiman Amida Hassan, who has been elevated to the Bench of the Federal High Court as a Judge.
