Bandits Kill 32 Farmers in Attacks on Niger Communities

Bandits have killed no fewer than 32 farmers in a series of coordinated attacks on Tugan-Makeri (also spelled Tunga-Makeri), Konsoko (or Konkoso), and Pissa communities in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.The assaults began early on Saturday, February 14, 2026, around 3:00 a.m., when suspected bandits invaded Tunga-Makeri village in the Shafachi District, killing at least six people, setting several houses ablaze, and abducting an unspecified number of residents, according to police and resident accounts.The attackers then reportedly moved to nearby Konkoso village, where they (…)
