Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has said it is insulting for United States lawmakers to propose sanctions on Rabiu Kwankwaso over his role in implementing Sharia law during his tenure as Governor of Kano State. In a post shared on his X handle, Ahmad argued that Sharia is not a criminal concept and that its implementation does not constitute an offense warranting punitive action against any individual.
