No order from FG to halt crackdown on sachet alcohol, says NAFDAC

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has dismissed reports claiming it was ordered by the federal government to halt enforcement against sachet alcohol. NAFDAC recently announced it had be begun enforcement of the ban on the production and sale of alcohol packaged in sachets and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles across the country. However, on Wednesday, reports on social media claimed the federal government had ordered NAFDAC to suspend all enforcement actions relating to the ban.
