Police arrest government official, two monarchs over beheadings in Ebonyi

The Ebonyi police command says it has arrested Anya Baron-Ogbonnia, coordinator of Amasiri development centre in Afikpo, and two traditional rulers, over the murder of four persons in Edda LGA of the state. Joshua Ukandu, police spokesperson in the state, said the traditional rulers were identified as Onyaidam Bassey and Godfrey Oko-Obia. Ukandu said the arrest followed a joint operation by the police, the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
