South Africa cuts power supply to Nigerian high commission over ‘unpaid bills’

South African authorities have disconnected electricity supply to the Nigerian High Commission over “unpaid utility services”. Nasiphi Moya, mayor of Tshwane city, announced the development in an X post on Monday. The decision formed part of the city’s ongoing #TshwaneYaTima campaign, an initiative aimed at cutting municipal services to consumers with significant outstanding debts. “#TshwaneYaTima: We’ve disconnected electricity at the High Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
