Armed bandits launched a brazen overnight attack on Agwara town, the headquarters of Agwara Local Government Area in Niger State, setting fire to the Divisional Police Headquarters and a major church while operating with near-impunity for hours.The assault began around 3:40 a.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026, when the gunmen stormed the Agwara Police Station.
