Edo Council Chairman, Oshionogue impeached

The Chairman of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, has been removed from office following his impeachment by members of the council’s legislative arm.The impeachment was communicated in a letter signed on Wednesday by seven councillors, a development that came just hours after a planned peace meeting between Oshionogue and the aggrieved councillors failed to hold at the Edo State House of Assembly.It was gathered that shortly after the aborted meeting, the seven councillors proceeded to Igarra, the headquarters of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, where they formally issued the impeachment (…)
