Beatrice Ekweremadu, the wife of former Nigerian Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, has returned to Nigeria following her release from a UK prison. She arrived in Abuja on Tuesday, January 21, 2026, and was welcomed by family and close associates at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. This marks her first visit to Nigeria since the legal case began in mid-2022.Her return sparked celebrations in her hometown of Mpu in Enugu State, even as her husband remains incarcerated in the UK.
