Human rights activist, former presidential candidate, and publisher of SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore, appeared before the Federal High Court in Abuja today for the commencement of his trial on a five-count charge brought by the Department of State Services (DSS).The charges, originally filed in September 2025, accuse Sowore of cybercrimes, criminal defamation, and incitement related to social media posts on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook.
