A Nigerian man, Olabode Ifeanyi, has shared a documented comparison of grocery prices between 2020 and 2026 after purchasing the same items listed on an old supermarket receipt. In a post on X, Ifeanyi said he decided to buy every item on a receipt issued in 2020 to measure how prices have changed over time. According to the receipts he uploaded, the total cost of the items in 2020 was ₦25,225. However, when he bought the same products in January 2026, the total bill rose to ₦147,050.
