BREAKING: Court restrains Rivers chief judge from receiving impeachment notice against Fubara

A high court in Port Harcourt has issued an interim order restraining the chief judge of Rivers from receiving or acting on any impeachment notice against Siminalayi Fubara, the state governor, and his deputy, Ngozi Odu. The Rivers state house of assembly had asked the chief judge of the state to constitute a panel to investigate allegations of gross misconduct levelled against Fubara and Odu. The order was issued by Florence Fiberesima, presiding judge following two separate suits filed by Fubara and his deputy, marked OYHC/7/CS/2026 and OYHC/6/CS/2026.
