BREAKING: Court lacks power to intervene in impeachment process – Rivers Assembly fires back

The Rivers State House of Assembly has rubbished an order by the state High Court, stopping the ongoing impeachment of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his Deputy. The court on Friday issued an interim injunction restraining the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, and the Clerk of the House, from sending any correspondence to the Chief Judge of the state. The court also stopped the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Simeon Amadi, from making any step towards the impeachment process.
