Edo begins process of releasing detained AAU student protesters

The Edo State Government, on Tuesday, began moves to secure the release of bona fide students of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, who were remanded at the Ubiaja Correctional Centre over their alleged involvement in a protest against incessant kidnappings in the community, which later turned violent.The students were among 52 persons arrested and subsequently remanded at the correctional facility on Monday.Governor Monday Okpebholo deployed the Edo State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Paddy Iyamu, to facilitate the release of the students.Speaking to journalists at the Ubiaja Correctional (…)
