FG budgets N115bn for reintegration of ‘transformed’ ex-militants

The federal government has earmarked N115 billion in the 2026 proposed budget for the reintegration of “transformed” ex-militants under the presidential amnesty programme. The presidential amnesty programme (PAP) is an initiative aimed at reintegrating former agitators into society and fostering sustainable development in the Niger Delta region. The allocation, captured as an ongoing project, is provided for under the service-wide vote, a unit domiciled in the ministry of budget and economic planning.
