Rotimi Oyedepo Assumes Duty as Director of Public Prosecutions

Rotimi Oyedepo, the newly appointed director of public prosecutions (DPP) in the federal ministry of justice, has assumed duty. In December 2025, President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of Oyedepo, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), as DPP. Oyedepo was transferred from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to the mainstream federal civil service. He succeeded Abubakar Babadoko, who retired on December 31, 2025, after completing the mandatory eight-year tenure as director.
