The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has reported a fire outbreak at a 15 MVA TR3 power transformer located at the IBB Way Injection Substation in Katsina, resulting in widespread electricity disruption across several areas of the state capital.In a statement released on Monday and signed by Head of Corporate Communications, Sani Bala Sani, KEDCO confirmed that the incident took place late on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
