Sokoto schools resume despite security concerns

Public primary and junior secondary schools across Sokoto State will resume academic activities for the second term on Monday, January 5, 2026, despite ongoing security concerns in parts of the state.The Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, announced that the first-term holiday would end on Sunday, January 4, 2026, with all schools under its supervision resuming the following day.In a statement signed by the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Umar Nagwari Tambuwal, the board said adequate arrangements had been put in place to ensure a smooth and orderly resumption.Tambuwal urged (…)
