Troops Recover Cache of 12.7mm Ammunition in Maiduguri

Troops from Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) successfully recovered a significant stash of 12.7mm ammunition in the Bulumkutu Railway area of Maiduguri on January 2, 2026, following a tip-off from alert residents.The operation began around 3:00 p.m. after locals reported spotting suspicious metallic objects in a drainage channel. Military forces, working alongside Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams, quickly secured the site and conducted a detailed search.The recovery yielded 1,270 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition warheads, including several live rounds, along with concealed power banks. (…)
