Court Remands Malami, Son, Associate in Kuje Prison Pending Bail Hearing

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), his son Abubakar Abdulaziz Malami, and an associate Hajia Asabe Bashir at the Kuje Correctional Centre, pending the determination of their bail applications.The order was issued by Justice Emeka Nwite on Tuesday after the trio were arraigned on a 16-count charge of alleged money laundering preferred against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).The defendants pleaded not guilty to all counts when the charges were read.
