The Benue State Police Command successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt and rescued the victim unharmed in the early hours of Christmas Day, December 25, 2025.Police spokesperson DSP Udeme Edet disclosed that the incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. along the Tiortu area, as Akume Geoffrey was traveling from Gboko to Makurdi.The victim was reportedly intercepted by armed men suspected to be kidnappers, who forcibly abducted him and attempted to drag him into a nearby forest.Following a distress alert, police operatives quickly mobilized, launching intensive patrols and a coordinated search (…)
