Three confirmed dead in Lagos Island fire outbreak

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) says three persons have been confirmed dead following the fire outbreak at the Great Nigeria Insurance building on Martin street. The inferno broke out at about 6pm on Christmas Eve at the 25-storey building on Lagos Island, leaving at least 12 persons injured and destroying goods worth millions of naira. In a statement on Saturday, LASEMA said the bodies were recovered from the rubble of the building on the fourth day after the fire incident.
