Visa Ban: Nigeria tops Africa in crude oil exports to US – Embassy

The United States Embassy in Nigeria has said Nigeria emerged as the leading African exporter of crude oil to the United States between January and August 2025. In a statement posted on X on Tuesday, the embassy said Nigeria shipped 33.23 million barrels of crude oil to the US within the period, valued at approximately $2.57 billion. According to the statement, Nigeria’s crude oil exports accounted for more than half of all African crude oil shipments to the United States during the eight-month time frame, underscoring the country’s dominant position in US–Africa energy trade.
