Sultan of Sokoto Declares Monday, December 22, as First Day of Rajab 1447 AH

The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has announced Monday, December 22, 2025, as the first day of Rajab 1447 AH.The announcement was made in a statement signed by Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu, the Wazirin Sokoto and Chairman of the Sultanate Council Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs.According to the statement, the National Moon Sighting Committee, in collaboration with the Sultanate Council, received no credible reports of the sighting of the Rajab crescent moon on Saturday, (…)
