Suspected armed bandits have murdered Hon. Mu’azu Muhammad Gwashi, a former vice chairman of Bukkuyum Local Government Area in Zamfara State, northwest Nigeria, despite his family paying a ₦15 million ransom.Gwashi was abducted approximately five to six months ago and remained in captivity until last weekend when he was killed. A family member, Muhammad Lawal Gwashi, confirmed the incident, stating that the kidnappers initially demanded ₦30 million, which the family struggled to raise, extending the victim's ordeal.The ransom was later negotiated down to ₦15 million.
