Imo demolishes hotel, mortuary over ‘organ harvesting activities’

The Imo state government has demolished Jessy Best Hotel and Ugwudi Cottage Hospital’s mortuary along Owerri-Aba road in Ngor Okpala LGA, over alleged organ harvesting. The state had sealed the morgue after discovering decomposed and mutilated corpses in unhygienic conditions, raising suspicions of illegal organ harvesting activities. Aboki Danjuma, state commissioner of police, told journalists that the demolitions were carried out on the orders of Hope Uzodimma, governor of the state.
