NAFDAC warns against importation of prohibited food items

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has raised the alarm over the growing incidence of smuggling, sale, and distribution of regulated food products currently found in markets across the country.The agency disclosed this in a statement signed by the agency’s Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, on Saturday in Abuja.NAFDAC said the products—pasta, noodles, sugar, and tomato paste—are expressly listed on the Federal Government’s Customs Prohibition List and are not permitted for importation.The statement read in part, “The National Agency for Food and Drug (…)
