‘Worship centres in crime-prone areas should reconsider opening’ — Kogi tells residents after church attack

The Kogi government says worship centres in “crime-prone areas” should reconsider opening until the state’s security situation improves. On Sunday, gunmen attacked a newly established Cherubim and Seraphim Church during early morning service in Ejiba, Yagba West LGA of the state. The assailants kidnapped a pastor, his wife, and several congregants during the attack. Reacting to the abduction, Kingsley Fanwo, Kogi’s commissioner for information, urged the residents of the state to speak out when they notice unusual activities around them.
