Former Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has reacted to the conviction and sentencing to life imprisonment of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. In a post on his verified X handle on Saturday, Obi said the sentencing is coming at a time when Nigeria is facing severe economic hardship, insecurity, and the consequences of poor governance, adding that rather than reducing tension, the unfortunate development may well only aggravate it.
