The Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, has adjourned the physical forensic inspection of a mobile phone belonging to former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele to January 5 and 8, 2026.Justice Rahman Oshodi fixed the new dates on Friday after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) insisted that the examination of the digital device, tagged Exhibit I, must be conducted in an environment completely disconnected from the internet to preserve the integrity and chain of custody of the evidence.The court had earlier ordered that Emefiele’s phone (…)
