Taraba lawmakers leave PDP for APC ahead of Kefas’ defection

John Bonzena, the speaker of the Taraba state house of assembly, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The switch took place on Monday ahead of the planned defection of Agbu Kefas, governor of Taraba, to the APC. Principal officers in the state’s legislature and all PDP members of the assembly joined Bonzena. Viral videos show the lawmakers swapping their caps for those emblazoned with the insignia of President Bola Tinubu. The legislators were also handed brooms — the symbol of the APC.
