Fire ravages restaurant in Borno

A fire on Sunday gutted a significant part of Kayat Restaurant on Polo Road in Maiduguri, Borno State.Eyewitnesses said the blaze started around 11 a.m. but was quickly brought under control by the Borno State Fire Service and the police.The Public Relations Officer of the state police, Nahum Daso, confirmed that rescue efforts were ongoing.He said, “Our team from the GRA police station is currently there, providing assistance to the Fire Service”Umar Abdullahi, an eyewitness, said the area had been cordoned off, adding,” I just passed there now.
