One dead, six injured in stampede at Defence Minister’s home

A stampede at the home of the Minister of Defense, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, in Gusau, Zamfara State, has left one person dead and six others injured, according to security sources on Friday. The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday when a large crowd gathered to welcome the minister. Zagazola Makama reported on X handle that the situation became chaotic and led to a stampede. The victims included 23-year-old Khalifa Uzairu, who was confirmed dead on arrival at Farida General Hospital.
