Reps to probe ₦20tn abandoned FG lands, buildings

The House of Representatives has resolved to set up an ad hoc committee to investigate abandoned Federal Government–owned landed properties and buildings across the country, reportedly valued at over ₦20tn.This followed the adoption of a motion of urgent national importance sponsored by the Minority Leader, Kingsley Chinda (PDP, Rivers), during plenary on Wednesday.Chinda, citing Order 8, Rule 5 of the House Standing Orders and Sections 88 and 89 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), said the investigation was aimed at preventing further wastage of public resources and ensuring the (…)
