Nnamdi Kanu files preliminary objection over repealed terrorism charges

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has filed a preliminary objection over his continued prosecution for terrorism. Kanu said prosecuting him on the charges of the repealed Terrorism (Prevention) Amendment Act 2013 violates Sections 1(3), 36(1)–(12), and 42 of the Nigerian Constitution and Articles 7 and 26 of the African Charter. He filed the preliminary objection before the Justice James Omotosho-led Abuja Federal High Court with SUIT NO: FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015.
