Mike Waltz, the United States ambassador to the United Nations, has invited music star Nicki Minaj for a discussion following her online comments concerning “religious persecution in Nigeria”. Waltz’s invitation was prompted by President Donald Trump’s announcement that he would redesignate Nigeria as a “country of particular concern”. Trump cited allegations of a “Christian genocide” in the country, attributing the violence to radical Islamist groups.
