Over ‘50 terrorists’ killed as troops foil midnight Boko Haram, ISWAP offensives

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have repelled coordinated attacks by Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters on multiple locations across Borno and Yobe. The defence headquarters said the terrorists launched simultaneous assaults on military bases in Dikwa, Mafa, Gajibo, and Katarko between midnight and 4 am on Thursday. A statement issued on Thursday by Sani Uba, a lieutenant colonel and media officer for the joint task force, said the troops “fought gallantly and professionally”, repelling the attacks and inflicting “heavy and decisive losses” on the insurgents.
