Court sacks Ebonyi council chairmen, councillors elected in 2024

A federal High Court, Abakaliki Division on Tuesday nullified the election that brought to office the current 13 council chairmen and their Councilors in the state, declaring the election unconstitutional. It was gathered that the court nullified the 2024 Local government election conducted by the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission, EBSIEC, for disobedience and non compliance with the Electoral Act. Recall that the court had earlier nullified the previous August 2022 election and declared it null and void over the same unlawful procedure. Details shortly ……
