Ajibade, Okoronkwo nominated for CAF women’s player of the year

Rasheedat Ajibade and Esther Okoronkwo have been nominated for the 2025 Confederation of African Football (CAF) women’s player of the year award. The Super Falcons duo are named in the 10-player list of nominees released by CAF on Friday. Other footballers on the list include the Zambian duo of Barbara Banda and Racheal Kundananji, as well as Tabitha Chawinga and Temwa Chawinga from Malawi. The rest are Morocco’s Sanaa Mssoudy and Ghizlane Chebbak, Portia Boakye of Ghana and Mame Diop of Senegal. Chiamaka Nnadozie is nominated for the Goalkeeper of the Year prize.
