Saudi Arabia Slashes Nigeria’s 2026 Hajj Quota, Imposes Stricter Health Rules

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) announced that Saudi Arabia has reduced Nigeria’s 2026 Hajj quota to 66,910 slots from the previously allocated 95,000, while introducing tougher health regulations for pilgrims. The decision was revealed during a meeting in Abuja with State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, as stated by NAHCON’s deputy director of information, Fatima Usara.NAHCON Chairman Abdullahi Usman emphasized collaboration with state boards for seamless Hajj operations and highlighted the need for rigorous medical screenings due to Saudi Arabia’s tightened health requirements.
