Tinubu’s aide mocks Peter Obi, Obidients after inflation decline

The Presidency on Wednesday slammed the former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, and his supporters, the Obidients, amid the recent inflation report. Nigeria’s headline inflation dropped to 18.02 per cent in September 2025, down from 20.12 per cent in August. Data from the National Bureau of Statistics indicate that headline inflation has dropped for the sixth consecutive time this year. Reacting, President Bola Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga, in a post on his official Facebook page, said despite the “significant crash”, Obi would continue his criticism of the country’s economy.
