President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has greenlit a $1 billion initiative to revamp Nigeria’s key ports—Apapa, Tincan Island, Warri, Calabar, and Port Harcourt, aiming to transform the nation’s maritime infrastructure. Announced by Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Managing Director Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho at the International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH) World Ports Conference in Kobe, Japan, the project is set to begin in Q1 2026.
