The Abia State Government on Monday sharply rebuked Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, for claiming that Governor Alex Otti failed to account for the increased federal allocations to the state following the Federal Government’s fuel subsidy removal. In a statement by Otti’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, the government accused Kalu of “advertising his ignorance of basic financial realities.” Ekeoma urged the lawmaker to seek guidance to avoid “disgracing himself in public” with unfounded criticisms.
