Candlelight mourning to hold Sept 23 as UNILAG student drowns at Lagos beach

The campus community at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) is in mourning over the drowning of a 400-level student. The deceased student, Damilola Balogun, a final-year student of adult education, died on September 19 at Museyo Beach in Ijebu-Lekki. Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, UNILAG spokesperson, confirmed the development to TheCable on Monday. Multiple accounts of the incident purported that the student was attempting a backflip stunt when he was swept away by the beach waves.
