FIFA Opens Case Against South Africa for Fielding Ineligible Player in World Cup Qualifier

FIFA has launched disciplinary proceedings against the South African Football Association (SAFA) and midfielder Teboho Mokoena for fielding the player while ineligible during a 2026 World Cup Africa qualifier against Lesotho in March 2025, potentially jeopardizing Bafana Bafana's qualification hopes.
