Ogun government warns residents of diphteria cases, self-medication

The Ogun state government, through the Commissioner for Health, Dr Tomi Coker alerted members of the public on the rise in the number of diphtheria cases across the state.According to Coker, diphtheria is a bacterial infection that is easily transmitted from one person to another through close contact, sneezing, or coughing.Coker warned residents not to self-medicate, saying if left untreated, diphtheria can result in serious consequences and even death.The commissioner listed the symptoms associated the disease to include sore throat, trouble breathing or swallowing, fever, swollen neck, (…)
