Nigeria to Launch Chinese-Financed Lithium Plant in Nasarawa

Nigeria will open a new 6,000-metric-ton lithium processing plant in Nasarawa State this month, funded by Chinese investors. The facility, near Lafia, will produce lithium-ion batteries and materials for electric vehicles and renewable energy, boosting Nigeria’s role in the global clean energy market.President Bola Tinubu will commission the plant, a collaboration with Chinese firms like Jiuling Lithium and Canmax Technologies, alongside local partner Three Crown Mines.
